Haji Abdul Majeed Sheikh is a remarkably dignified, noble, and quietly devoted individual. Early Life & Migrations

Born in Ajmer Sharif in January 1938, Haji Abdul Majeed migrated to Pakistan during the 1947 partition, settling in the city of Hyderabad. He received his early education at Noor Muhammad High School, though his interest simultaneously grew in business and social activities.

In 1985, seeking business stability, he undertook a second migration, relocating from Hyderabad to Karachi with his children. The transition was arduous. He faced significant hardships and challenges while trying to establish his footing in a new city. However, remaining entirely submissive to the will of Allah, he stood his ground with unwavering resolve. This steadfastness was rewarded; Allah blessed his hard work, and today he is counted among the most prominent business figures.

Family & Personal Life

He is the sixth among seven siblings (five brothers and two sisters). Sadly, three of his brothers and one sister have passed away. By the grace of Allah, Haji Abdul Majeed is the father of ten children — four daughters and six sons. Having beautifully fulfilled his responsibilities as a father, all his children are married. Today, his sons are managing their respective businesses with great discipline and excellence.

A deeply spiritual man, he has been blessed with the opportunity to perform Hajj twice and makes it a regular practice to perform Umrah every year during the month of Ramadan.

Philanthropy & Social Impact

Haji Abdul Majeed Sheikh is the Patron-in-Chief of the Ajmer Chhipa Jamaat. Prior to moving to Karachi, his role in stabilizing and organizing the Chhipa Charitable Hospital in Hyderabad was exemplary.

He believes that true salvation lies in loving humanity and helping the broken-hearted. Notably, when Ramzan Chhipa established the Chhipa Welfare Center in Karachi, Haji Abdul Majeed Sheikh's guidance and support were instrumental. Today, Ramzan Chhipa Welfare has transformed into a massive welfare organization, and Haji Abdul Majeed remains deeply connected to it not just as an associate, but as a founding member who is always at the forefront of its charitable endeavors. Additionally, he serves as a patron and founder for various other social and welfare organizations in Karachi, believing that the greatest reward is the love of the people.

• On Human Rights (Huquq-ul-Ibad): He notes that a large majority of people today neglect the rights of their fellow human beings, despite Allah's strict commands to fulfill them. He firmly believes that if people take these responsibilities seriously, poverty and destitution could largely be eradicated from society.
• On Exploitation: He openly critiques a system where many industrialists and the newly rich continuously exploit the poor, while paradoxically claiming to be champions of the needy. He highlights that a privileged elite has monopolized the nation's resources, hijacked the system, and turned charity into a commercial enterprise.
• On the Pakistani Nation: Despite these systemic flaws, he believes that overall, the Pakistani nation is among the best in the world. There is no shortage of good people alongside the bad; it is merely the ruling class that has caused despair.
• On Work Ethic & Western Influence: He warns that Western and Indian cultures are overpowering our own, and we must gradually rid ourselves of this cultural imperialism. However, he advocates for adopting the positive aspects of Western society. He praises their work ethic, noting that markets in the West open before dawn and operate in four shifts, whereas local shopkeepers often don't start until noon. He admires the Western principle of paying a laborer before their sweat dries, lamenting that in our society, people often withhold the rightful, hard-earned wages of others for years.
• Advice to the Youth & Rulers: He advises the younger generation to adopt the good qualities of other nations while embracing moderation and simplicity. Finally, he urges the rulers to uphold the constitution and the law, setting an example so powerful that the world looks up to the Pakistani society as a model.
